The Day We Leave Malaysia
9th November 2019
The sun is up, so do I. Today is the day, the day we'll be leaving Malaysia for a month. Excited? Yes. Afraid? Yes. When the clock strikes 11, I leave my home and heading to KLIA2. The journey is to begin...
Hye and assalammualaikum guys :) Thank you for clicking this post. Before I go further more about my journey, let me explain about the program that I'm participating. 4th BATCH SEAMEO SEA-TVET STUDENT EXCHANGE PROGRAMME this is under SEAMEO Polytechnic Network in Southeast Asia. This program will be involving students from Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand-Philipines. Eight students from Politeknik Mersing Johor has been chosen for this program, and I'm one of them. My team consists of four girls. Hana, Nina, Taca and me! So basically we'll be relying on each other for a month.
Long short story, I then arrived at KLIA2 on 12.30pm. And here we are, four Bogor Girls. Hana, Nina, Miss Linda, Me and Taca. Our departure time is 3.10pm KUL - CGK (Jakarta). After checking in our luggage, we straight away go to gate. Rushing and running to the gate.
As we arrived the gate, we heard an annoucement. Our fight number
is being announced, and it will be delayed for 20 minutes. Sigh... I'll
just take a quick nap then.
We board into the flight on 3.34pm (Malaysia Time). The flight take off
and we land at Soekarno Hatta Internationa airport 6.00pm (Indonesia
Time)
Our arrival has been welcomed by Ibu Reny , Rangga and Sarah from Institusi Pertanian Bogor (IPB). We then straight away continue our journey to Bogor. Thanks to Sarah, our driver for that night. It takes approximately two hours to arrived at Bogor from the airport. Along the drive, I'm so fascinated with the beauty of Jakarta at night.
Jakarta, the largest city in Indonesia.
We arrived at Bogor on 8.30pm. It's quite late because the traffic jammed at Bogor is not a joke. By the way, I learned a new word in Indonesia!
Macet = Traffic Jammed
And we will learn more Indonesian Language for sure.
Then, we straight away go to our Boarding House. Our house is at Stone House, Jl Danau Matana. This is a share house only for women. And here, we will live for a month. I've to say that it is very comfortable here. We get our own room (privacy privilege), air-cond in the room, personal bathroom, and the most important thing is 24hour accessible wi-fi. Great isn't it?
We had our first dinner here at Rai & Raka. It's a small warung (stall) alongside the road. It offers various kinds of foods that we never heard in Malaysia. And it excite us to try all the foods on the menu! I try a signature Indonesian food, Pecel Lele. It has white rice, served with a pecel (chili paste) and lele (fried catfish).
Ohhh before I forgot, throughout our stay here, we'll be accompanied by buddies. They are IPB students who will guide us about IPB, Bogor and much other stuff. Basically they will be our personal tour guide, and we can ask anythinggggg like anything from them. Our buddies are so friendly, kind and caring.
And this is us! Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand's students in one table.
We when back to our house. I unpack all of my stuff and get to bed early. I can't wait for tomorrow, so excited for more adventure.
